Yes, but there is precious little actual *evidence* for those claims.
Notably, not one artifact of unquestionably extraterrestrial origin, or
item of factual knowledge unquestionably beyond then-current human
knowledge, has ever turned up. Even things like the Antikythera clock and
Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks are, beyond reasonable doubt, products of
their own time and our own culture.

That possibility exists, but it amounts to giving up on any attempt to
understand the situation. An explanation which does not invoke the
Tooth Fairy to deal with key issues would be much more satisfactory.

On my to-be-read pile/shelf/wall  for a long time, but haven't yet made
it to the top.

Personaly I think they watched our culture for a while and put us in
quarntine. They just check back every now and then to see if we've
