A treasure trove. Thanks.
(Surprise you didn't include the biscuits in
<http://www.plan59.com/av/av033.htm>, though.)
Many are credited (Frank Tinsley! Bob McCall!) but the uncredited ones
offer an opportunity to play Guess-The-Artist.
I'm going to claim that <http://www.plan59.com/av/av003.htm> is
Ed Valigursky.
Don't know who painted "Salute to Memphis... and Its Post-War Future"
<http://www.plan59.com/av/av251.htm>, but it could be a prophecy of FedEx.
Another surprise: a photo of the young Pat Flannery in
<http://www.plan59.com/av/av278.htm>.

A really, really nice Zeppelin painting.
Any day now, a small team of undergraduate engineers with access to
rapid-prototyping equipment could tackle it.

I like how the background includes a swath of Milky Way, the Moon, what
looks like an unnamed nearby planet/oid -- and the Atlas still has a
regular warhead mounted on it. Were they planning on nuking that little
planetoid about 3o'clock to the nose?
I still dig that painting of the TitanIII/DynaSoar lifting off. Now,
_those_ were some goddamn' _fins_.

I kinda dig this one:
http://www.plan59.com/av/av451.htm
....except, perhaps, for the sleek aerodynamic lawn mower. I can imagine
an adolescent Elroy Jetson cursing as he tries to start it. I can't
believe they're still using the old rip-pull cord to ignite the
antimatter pile in that thing.

....Yeah, but what's really interesting is the launch point. Note the
location *and* the direction of launch.

Well, all the foliage on the planet has already turned red, so we're
probably toast anyway :)

Looks too far East to be Arkansas. If it isn't Northern Louisiana it
might be Western Tennesee or SouthWestern Kentucky. Perhaps they were
launched with a mixure of LOX and Moonshine...
